The wait is over. After much anticipation, Offset unleashes his solo album Father of 4.
The Migos rapper, Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendell Cephus, is the father of four children- Jordan, 9, Kody, 3, Kalea, 3 and 7-month-old Kulture, who he shares with wife Cardi B.
He opens up like never before on his oft-delayed debut, which follows Quavo and Takeoff’s solo projects. Produced exclusively by Metro Boomin and Southside, the 16 tracks are loaded with features from J. Cole, Cardi B, Travis Scott, 21 Savage, CeeLo Green, Quavo, Gucci Mane, and more.
Taking to Twitter, Offset revealed why the project is so important and personal. “This album means the world to me took my time with the project,” he tweeted. “I am a FATHER OF 4. The most beautiful and smart kids I could ask for. I want them to understand there dad for the good and the bad. The decisions I made was to feed I’m not a perfect FATHER BUT I AM A FATHER OF 4!”
“Fatherhood was missing in my life and sometimes I have to be missing for work but it all come back to the little ones I’m setting them up for the future,” he explained. “I didn’t take the cleanest route to success I ran into walls and hurdles but I overcame them I’m proud of me!!!”
Offset’s highly-publicized relationship with Cardi B, with whom he welcomed daughter Kulture in July 2018, has been rocked by rumors of his infidelity. In December, Cardi announced that she was splitting up with her then-fiance, with Offset’s public plea to win her back-surprising her onstage during one of her performances with balloons and flowers.
Amid the drama, Offset’s new album, originally scheduled for a December release, never arrived. Now, his relationship with Cardi is seemingly on the mend, with the duo attending the Grammys together, and his new album featuring both artists’ thoughts on what went down between them, with Cardi and Offset both criticizing the media that covered his reported affairs, as well as Offset’s own regrets about his behavior.
Father of 4 is a family affair in more ways than one-Cardi B features on the track “Clout,” which includes a low-key Kim Kardashian diss.
It’s a new era for your favorite Migos member.
